Own Your Own Cappuccino Coffee Machine

The current interest in having your own cappuccino coffee machine at home has brought the prices down and the number of built-in features up. The more features you want, the more the cappuccino coffee machine will cost.

With the availability of cappuccino confined mostly to Europe until the 1990’s, few people have only heard of cappuccino, usually in European or Italian-themed restaurants. Today you can find a cappuccino coffee machine at work in many fast-food restaurants as well as at private homes.

Cappuccino takes a single shot of espresso and mixes it with foamy steamed milk to create the drink. Putting less milk and considerably less foam will change a cappuccino into a latte. There are now a few cappuccino coffee machines that will also make espresso and latte drinks with certain adjustments on the equipment.

Originally, from Italy, cappuccino is typically enjoyed in the morning with a regular-seized cup of espresso. Steamed milk, about the color of chocolate milk and a spoon of foam place in the middle. The person should be able to taste the coffee separately. Many cappuccino coffee machines made for home use, will allow you to make this original blend.

How Cappuccino Machines Work

A home version of a cappuccino coffee machine must first be able to brew espresso. Having a built in grinder is helpful as coffee beans are much more finely ground for cappuccino than for coffee. The grind is then placed in a basket, with filter, and hot water is forced through under pressure. Some machines accomplish this with the use of steam and others have a hand-operated pump to force the water through the tightly compacyed grounds.

Milk is placed in a separate compartment of the cappuccino coffee machine where it is heated by the same steam used to force water through the coffee grounds. A separate spout is then used to swirl the heated milk onto the top of the espresso. Still another area whips the foam to be placed on top of the milk to make a perfect cup of cappuccino.

With your own home cappuccino coffee machine you can adjust the strength of the drink by the amount of grounds you use and how finely they are ground. You also control how much heated milk is added as well as the amount of foam placed on top. These can be adjusted on the cappuccino coffee machine and, if you remember what you did to achieve the taste you desired, can be consistently duplicated.
